Job description

TECNALIA Research & Innovation is looking for strengthen its activity in the field of Sustainable and Green Chemistry within the Materials and Processes for Energy and Environment Area.  Therefore, a Chemical Engineer position is available at Sustainable Chemistry platform.

We are looking for an experience, skilled and highly motivated chemical engineer interested in developing research projects in chemical processes improvement from economic and sustainability perspectives and in translate the innovative and sustainable chemical processes into lab and piloting equipment

Task Description:

  • The successful applicant will participate in the design of a process unit, including establishing process design basis, trade-off of process options and optimization of selected design.
  • The successful applicant will design small lab scale test installations, select suppliers of the components, supervise the construction and write the acceptance test and operational procedures.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible of the coordination, preparation (technical and economic part), implementation and management of both public and privately funded research projects at national and International level.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible of market development according to TECNALIA commercial plan.
  • The selected candidate will be able to generate new breakthrough ideas and strategies for business development.

Requirements

  • A master degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in chemical process design, chemical reactor design and manufacturing of pilot plants.
  • Good knowledge of unit operations (like distillation, filtration, heat transfer etc.), technical specifications (pumps, tank/pressure vessels, valves)
  • Experience in capture and CO2 uses technologies
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar position working in the private industrial sector.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational skills and team player.
  • Proficient in English, at least C1 level or equivalent.
